What is the drill for?

The drill is used to generate operations, such as: small holes, for tapping, reaming or drilling small diameters

What are the types of drills that exist?

Column or vertical drill: the workpiece is placed on top of an adjustable table using a bench press to keep the piece immobile in place, the bit is lowered by means of a steering wheel, which is located in the side of the drill, the rotational speeds of the drill are adjusted to the preset speeds of the drill.

In column drills, the height level of the table can be adjusted so that the bit can be mounted easily and can change to a bit of greater length, the spindle has the characteristic of holding the bits in different diameters without problem of being changed.

Bench type drills: this type of drills are used to create small holes.

Radial drills: this type of drills can generate larger diameter holes.

The universal drills: its head can rotate which allows you to generate holes inangle.

Numerical control drills: are drills that automatically make holes in the desired sequence of operation, the use of a drill tower allows to generate several holes automatically, it can hold several work tools and its exchange of tools is very simple.

Drilling machines with multiple spindles: It is used to carry out high-speed production operations, they can generate all kinds of holes of different dimensions, reaming and flare operations.

How are the pieces held on the table?

The part clamping devices help to secure the part in a correct position for the drilling process and try to prevent the part from slipping or rotating during operation.
